Computation of the Billboard Hot 100 changed while 'Something' and 'Come Together' were on the chart. Until the alteration they showed separately (both making the top 3), but when a change in the rules caused both sides' sales and airplay to be combined (as was always the case with the UK charts) the single jumped to 1. In the UK the single peaked at number 4
